Snow today will be #ColdSmoke on certain aspects, and at elevation, mid-mtn could be a little wind-affected but still Mid-Winter shape. Mtn teams got out last night and cleaned up a lot of terrain for your carving pleasure. Off-piste, remember we are still a lil-shy of Mid-Winter, so be aware of any unmarked hazards out there...
NWS forecasts and NAM 3km models show the next set of systems headed into the region starting tonight, north of I-80, then sliding south into the Bear Valley and Dodge Ridge zones to start, then hitting China Peak for a News Years Refresh.
Temps look good for snow levels to be in the 5k-6k range to start, slightly flexing upwards mid-day, then dropping overnight.
Winds are not as bad as originally forecast. It will be cold this morning, so bundle up and bring on the layers so you can shed mid-day.
