Bear Valley Lodge: My Secret Stash...

Simple, Comfort, Chillax'n in style

Evening my friends Glass'O'Red in hand, fire crackling in the hearth of the Bear Valley Lodge's grand room... yeah, this is the life. Coop here, your Cali Pass Director of Stoke (DOS) at large, road-trippin', pow-chasing fanatic, back to spill the beans on my latest string of stays at my favorite Sierra hideaway: The Bear Valley Lodge. I've just clocked my third visit in four weeks, and let me tell you, this place is pure gold for anyone who lives for the thrill of pure mountain adventure. If you're a passionate mountain enthusiast seeking a genuine mountain experience with a local vibe, killer food, and easy access to one of the best mountains in California, then listen up.

Bear Valley Lodge: My Go-To for Mountain Bliss

Forget the Ritz, folks. I'm here to chase fresh pow, not to be pampered. Bear Valley Lodge gets that. It's got that perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort, and it's laser-focused on maximizing your time on the mtn. I've logged three stays in the last month, and each time, it’s been the ideal basecamp for your Hwy 4 adventures.

The Lodge Lowdown: Cozy and Convenient

Let's talk basics: the rooms are comfy, clean, and exactly what you need after a full day of carving. The Wi-Fi’s solid (gotta post those killer pics, right?), the heater keeps things toasty, the beds are perfect for crashing, and the bathrooms are clean. No complaints here. The focus is on the day ahead, and that's exactly how it should be.

The main lodge room is where it's at. Picture a massive fireplace, a super chill vibe, and plenty of space to hang with your crew or meet a few new snow aficionados. It’s family-friendly, so you’ll see kids enjoying the vibe; just chillaxin’ and gettin’ ready for tomorrow's on-mtn shred-session…

Fueling Up for the Mtns: Cup'O'Joe, Food & Frosty Adult Libation Stations ;)

Here’s the best part: you don’t even have to leave the lodge to get your grub on. We’re talking about four killer options, all just an elevator ride away.

  • Creekside Bistro: I hit up Creekside for a more upscale dinner, and let me tell you, the Short Ribs were NòKaOï – absolutely insane! Seriously, you gotta try them. This place is perfect for a special occasion or when you just want to treat yourself. They've got a solid wine list, too.

  • Grizzly Lounge: This is the local's hangout, and for good reason. Relaxed vibes, a great tap selection, and the Wedge Salad with added protein is my go-to power meal. It’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day on the mountain.

    • Coffee & Pastries: Daily, 7 AM-12 PM

    • Breakfast: Fri-Tue, 7:45 AM-10:30 AM

  • Sky High Pizza: Pizza and beer, need I say more? Sky High is perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. They’ve got multiple TVs, so you can catch the game while you refuel.

The General Store: Your One-Stop Shop

The Stay & Ski Deal: The Ultimate Bang for Your Buck

Listen up, pow-hounds, this is the deal you’ve been waiting for. The 2025 Stay & Ski package is back, and it’s a steal. From January 5th to April 17th, 2025 (Sunday-Thursday, non-holiday), you can snag a room at the lodge AND two-day lift tickets for Bear Valley Resort.
